˗ˏˋ The mymind API is here ˎˊ˗

It’s true: We now have an API. This changes everything, or nothing, depending on how you look at it (:

This has been one of the biggest requests we’ve received over recent years and we wanted to make sure to do it properly.

With the new API, you can build private integrations with mymind, automate workflows or wire your mind into the AI agents you already use. There are hundreds of different use cases and they really depend on you. Here are some examples:

✦︎ You can use the API to build yourself a weekly digest of all your saves and send it to yourself via email (this was done by one of our beta members).

✦︎ You can finally use alternative ways to import things into mymind, from any source you can imagine, really.

✦︎ You can use the API to visualize the things you saved into your mind from a thousand different perspectives. Basically it gives you all the granular data, and you can mold it the way you like.

IMPORTANT: As we’re currently in BETA, API keys can be created with two permissions: READ ONLY and FULL ACCESS. When using mymind with other services, be careful as what access you give. If you grant access to Claude or ChatGPT, they will be able to see everything inside your mind.

We’re working on more granular permissions in the future (like only giving access to a certain Space, or excluding certain cards from the API access).

Of course, your mind by default remains entirely PRIVATE. You do not need to use the API if you don’t want to. It’s an optional feature for those who asked for it.

You can expect a lot more on this soon, as we’re working hard to keep building out the many facets and integrations of the API. Have fun!

P.S. We also published a new essay on Mind Palace. Get aggressively curious.
